![]() ![]() Then if i don't reboot my pc, it will get to a point where it's just gonna clog my cpu to the point where even if i'm just browsing, it will freeze and i wont even be able to work the mouse so i have to forcefully reboot the pc. Going from 0.2% cpu usage right after reboot, to like 15 - 20% after my pc is on for a couple of hours. And what i found is that, everytime i click from one screen to another (dual monitors) i can see wmi showing up, gradually using more cpu everytime i tab from one screen to another. I've spent the last 2 - 3 days trying to figure it out, trying to make it happen so i could find out what was causing the issue. Turns out a lot of people had issues with Razer synapse. Which again, gives me the idea that malware is at play.Īnyhow, then i started to look for just about anything that could possibly be out of date, software, drivers. The error codes are from when my cpu usage got so bad, my pc freezes and i have to force a reboot. None of which i will be able to find after the reboot. i have multiple error codes reported by WMI with different process IDs. The issue for me is that, when i go to my event viewer. ![]() so i've tried pretty much all the tricks you can easily find with a quick google search. So then i started googling, and it seems that i'm not the only one with WMI provider issues. Which makes sense considering my pc is only 6 months old and i steer clear from downloading anything i don't trust. Pc was relatively clean, except for a few PUPs. so i scanned my entire pc multiple times for malware & other malicious viruses. Things i've tried: First thing i was thinking was malware. Though, i can't for the life of me figure out what is causing the issue. It gets worse faster when i'm playing games or doing intensive work like photoshop or video editing. With small, almost unnoticeable amounts of power at first (like right after a reboot) and then eating more and more as time goes by (several hours). It seems to have something to do with using my dual monitor setup as i go from 1 screen to the other, wmi is guaranteed to use my cpu. For awhile now i've been having issues with WMI provider host slowly but gradually eating more & more of my CPU the longer my pc is on. ![]()
